The date for next year’s Bupa Great Women's 10K has been announced as 17 May. Registration isn’t available yet but you can sign up to a reminder service to be notified of when entries open.
The largest female running event in the UK, the race saw almost 8,000 participants complete the course this year. The course starts in Nitshdale Road in the south side of Glasgow and goes through Pollokshields, heading into Pollok Park before finishing on Mosspark Boulevard outside Bellahouston Park. Throughout the course, runners are cheered on by 'Bands on the Run', providing musical accompaniment.
The race is part of the Great Run Series which recently teamed up with Puma to form a new partnership.
Susan Partridge (33:53) won the elite race in 2014, followed by Hayley Haining (35:21) and Elspeth Curran (35:39). Also taking part was Winter Olympic bronze medallist, Eve Muirhead, who swapped the ice for tarmac as she pounded the streets of the city.
Eve said of the race: "This was my first 10k experience and what a great event to start with. I had been told the Bupa Great Women’s 10k was special but I couldn’t believe the electric atmosphere and support out on the course.”
