Winter Warmers Return To Scotland

British Heart Foundation (BHF) Winter Warmer series returns to Scotland this year to help keep the winter blues at bay. Once again, Holyrood Park in Edinburgh and Glasgow's Pollok Park are the settings for the sponsored 5k/10k events.

Event organiser, Gizem Fowler, said: "Our Glasgow Winter Warmer is on Sunday 13 October and our Edinburgh Winter Warmer is on Sunday 3 November and both are family and dog-friendly routes. You can walk, jog or run 5k or 10k individually or in teams and all finishers will receive a medal and a thank-you certificate.

"It costs £15 for adults and £5 for children, to cover the costs of organising a safe and professional event. But it's your sponsorship money that will really help to make a difference to the lives of people in Scotland with heart disease; from babies born with a congenital condition, to teenagers learning to live with a heart condition to parents and grandparents who have had a heart attack or are living with heart failure.

"The Winter Warmer series really is for anyone of any ability. And for families, Pollok Park and Arthur's Seat are great places to enjoy a scenic morning out. And not only are you helping us raise vital funds, but you'll be benefiting your own heart health too."
