Tickets for the Speed of Light, an event that will see Arthur's Seat illuminated by hundreds of runners wearing specially designed light suits, go on sale this Saturday (March 25). Part of the Edinburgh International Festival and London 2012 activities, the first Speed of Light performance is due to take place on August 9 and will continue until September 1.
The progress of runners will be recorded through web interaction and a virtual audience, with data visualisation charting the changes to the body and mind of the athlete. The programme, which is one of several co-ordinated by Scottish charity NVA, aims to investigate the participative visual impact on runners and how this helps them overcome physical endurance.
With more than 2,500 runners already registered to take part, Speed of Light is being heralded as one of the most anticipated events at the Edinburgh International Festival.
If you would like to be part of the audience for the event, visit the EIF website to book tickets.
