With Valentine's Day on the horizon, a 5k in West Dunbartonshire is set to get hearts racing for singletons and lovebirds alike. The Valentine's Day 5K takes place on the Feast of St Valentine itself (14 February) in Balloch Country Park.
Organisers, Maurice Donohue, told scottishrunningguide.com: "Come along with a partner of your choice, whether it's your spouse, girlfriend, boyfriend, sibling, friend or even your dog and complete the route together!"
The run will start just inside the main gates of the park on Balloch Road. There is no registration, no fee, and no official recording of times, just turn up for a walk, jog or run in the park. The course will be marked out with directional signs but organisers stress that participants run at their own risk.
If you’re planning on having a candlelit dinner with your partner for Valentine’s Day, taking part in this event will make you feel you’ve earned the right to consume all those calories.
