Two Inns, Two Records

Tom Owens‚ÄčTom Owens has been crowned 2015 Scottish Hill Running Champion after finishing fastest male at Two Inns Race on Saturday (8 August). The Shettleston Harrier set a new course record with a time of 2:36:07. 

Also setting a new course record was Jasmin Paris of Carnethy HRC who finished in 2:49:28 to win the women’s race. The midpoint runner was Stuart Forest in 3:40:28.
Owens tweeted after the race: “Delighted not to get lost & win Scottish Champs”
A field of close to 100 – including many top hill runners – took on the the 24K race in near perfect conditions. The course took participants from Creagan to Glencoe, featuring  a 1770 climb. The event is the fifth race in the Championship which also includes Birnam, Ben Lomond, Slioch, Durisdeer, and Morven hill races.
