Following the success of last year's inaugural ‘Toward for a Tenner’ Dunoon Half Marathon, the race returns on Saturday (6 August) alongside a new 10k. The 10k will be held on the same fast and flat route as the half marathon and will see participants head around the beautiful Dunoon area on the Cowal Peninsula.
The route will suit all abilities, going along the beautiful coast road to the south of Dunoon and down to Toward, passing through the idyllic west coast village of Innellan, with strong community support along the way.
The event starts at Dunoon Pier at 11am with race registration and event numbers issued from 9:00am until 10:30am. If you’re travelling to the event, there are accommodation ideas and links at the Dunoon Presents website.
As the name suggests, entry for the event is just £10, including family entertainment throughout the day in the beautiful surroundings of the Dunoon Pier building, overlooking the Clyde.
Social media was abuzz with excitement before the event. David Wardrop, who will be returning to take part in the half marathon again this year, posted on Twitter: “Half marathon number 6 of the year signed up for just hope it's not as windy as it was last year.”
Entries are still available for both races. For more information and to register, visit Entry Central.
