Over 1,500 runners were showered with a rainbow of colours on Sunday (18 October) as they took part Run or Dye at Hopetoun House and Estate on the outskirts of Edinburgh. Bringing the spectacular burst of Run or Dye colour, the event saw runners and walkers of all ages and abilities enjoy the 5k.
These Colours Do Run
After crossing the finish line, runners and supporters celebrated their achievement at the famous Run Dye Festival featuring MC Sam. Participants took part in the Dye Games with crowd vs crowd competitions, Dye Blasts and Tie Dye-ing the Sky.
Help for Heroes is the official national charity partner and several of the Band of Brothers and Sisters joined the crowds on Sunday, cheering on the wounded servicemen, women and veterans who ran alongside members of the public taking part. Volunteers from local charity partner, When You Wish Upon A Star, covered the runners from head to toe with dye throughout the course.
The Scotland fundraising manager, Margaret Rowarth, praised the charity: “It is only through the donations from supporters and support from charity partnerships that When You Wish Upon a Star has created some of the most magical memories for those children and their families to cherish. By taking part in this year’s Run or Dye events many more have helped realise magical memories to cherish”
