Race 2 of the 2011 Polaroid 10K series was run in good conditions at Clydebank last night - cool with a light wind. Shettleston Harriers dominated the men's race finishing in the top three positions. Tesgai Tewelde flew out of the blocks and quickly established a 50m advantage over the chasing pack. He won the race in 30:48. Clubmates Paul Sorrie and Allan Adams didn't let him get too far ahead after that initial burst and finished 17 seconds behind, both with the same time of 31:05.
Luke Traynor of Giffnock North had another great run to finish 4th and first junior in 31:34. Bellahouston Roadrunners had a strong team out as it was a club championship race and a team of Russell Whittington, Kieran Docherty and Chris Black finished in the top 10 and were second team.
In the women's race Garscube Harrier Lesley Chisholm won in 36:15, Jill Knowles was second in 36:39 and Lyndsay Morrison was third in 36:49.
