There are just a handful of places left for the Touch of Tartan Half Marathon in Perth this Saturday (8 August). Part of the Perth Touch of Tartan weekend, the race will be held alongside the Perth Kilt Run 5K, as well as three walking events.
Half marathon runners will tackle a mixture of unclassified road, forest trails and paths, with at least three cross-over points controlled by police officers. The Kilt Run will see runners don traditional Scottish attire for the race. The half marathon participants, however, aren’t expected to follow suit.
Organisers say: “While you are free to wear a kilt to run the half marathon we suspect that most participants wouldn't want to run a full 13 miles wearing a kilt. Instead participants in the Half Marathon will be asked to have some form of tartan on display - this could be anything from a piece of ribbon to a t-shirt, head band or tartan socks. It's entirely up to you!”
