Fans of ultrarunner and influencer Susie Chan will have the chance to hear her speak about her epic adventures in person next March, when she will be the guest speaker at the next Running the Highlands Training Weekend (8–10 March 2019).
Chan, who has taken part in the World Marathon Majors as well as some of the world’s toughest ultramarathons, including several editions of the Marathon des Sables, is the latest in a series of high profile speakers for RTH. Commonwealth marathon bronze medallist Robbie Simpson will be returning to his Deeside roots as the guest speaker at the sold-out November training weekend, which starts tonight (Friday, 2 November).
A regular contributor to fitness magazines and podcasts, Chan is a well known – and always smiling – face in the challenging world of endurance running. She regularly shares the ups and downs of her training and racing life with her thousands of followers on Instagram, Ffacebook and Twitter. Chan, who also shared news of her diagnosis – and recovery – from thyroid cancer last year, is a constant source of motivation, inspiration and encouragement.
In addition to motivational talks by Chan, the weekend – based at the iconic Balmoral Castle Estate – will feature three guided runs, stretching and core stability workshops, and a running technique session with international-level coach, Willy Russell. Fraser Clyne, one of Scotland’s best-ever endurance athletes, will also be hosting a Q&A session.
