Sun Run To Set Shining Example

Walled Garden

A new 5k route is offering runners the chance to enjoy the East Lothian countryside while increasing their fitness levels. The route, devised by Archerfield Estates Ltd, can be run at any time though people are encouraged to do it every Sunday morning as part of the informal Sun Run.

As an incentive to finish the scenic circular course around the village of Dirleton, those who complete the run will be offered a free  (non-alcoholic) drink.

Abigail Stubbs, marketing manager, said: “We hope our Sunday 5k will become a regular social fixture for those who love to unwind with a weekend run. It’s a great idea for families, as mum or dad can have breakfast and a walk with the kids at our café, while the other parent gets the week’s stress out of their system on our lovely country route.”

The run launches on Sunday 25 May at 9.30am. Participants can meet at The Walled Garden courtyard or catch up along the way.  A map of the route, which avoids public roads, is available to download from the Archerfield Walled Garden website and free copies can be picked up from The Walled Garden shop and deli.

25th June 2014 isn't a Sunday... did you mean 21st or 28th? Nothing mentioned on the Archerfield Walled Garden website

Hi Mike. I've just had an email from Abi at the Walled Garden website saying that the launch date for the Sun Run is in fact this coming Sunday, 25th of May. Hopefully the details on the Scottish Running Guide will be amended soon.
