The Subway Helping Hearts Family 5K series returns to Scotland in 2016 with Strathclyde Park (22 May) and Holyrood Park (25 September) playing host to the events. Participants will have the option of running the 5K Fun Run in its entirety or stopping at the 4.5k mark to enter the ‘Field of Fresh’ – tackling a giant inflatable obstacle course before racing to the finish line.
The 5K is ideal for families, featuring kid-friendly entertainment such as face-painting, games, and a bouncy castle. The entry is £7 for adults, with children under 12 entering for free. In addition to the 5K fun run, participants will receive a free T-shirt, Subway lunch, and access to the fun family entertainment area.
All proceeds raised, including the entry fee, help support the Heart Research UK and Subway Healthy Heart Grants scheme, which funds heart health initiatives.
