Runners will have the chance to emulate the Brownlee brothers on 28 September by taking part in the Resolution Run in Strathclyde Park. The race takes place in the setting of the brothers’ gold and silver medals in the Commonwealth Games triathlon this summer.
Starting and finishing close to the Watersports Centre, participants can choose from either a 5k or a 10k. All runners will receive a medal – sadly not gold, silver or bronze – but a special Resolution Run one, as well as water and a T-shirt/running vest.
Registration is open now and costs just £12.50 for a standard entry with T-shirt (£15 if you would prefer a running vest). There is no minimum sponsorship for the event, participants are simply asked to raise what they can. All money raised will go towards the Stroke Association in Scotland.
Organisers say: “This is a great opportunity to take part in an event at a Commonwealth Games venue and is open to all ages and abilities. Participants can run, jog or walk the route, the main thing is you get active and enjoy yourself!”
You can register at the Stroke Association website. For more information, call 0131 555 7252 or e-mail email@example.com for more information.
