82 runners finished the the undulating and scenic course of the Strathallan 5 mile race this weekend, on its 11th running. The conditions were warm, however a slight breeze helped to keep runners cool, while to many spectators enjoyed the warm weather.
Winners in the ladies and mens even came from Corstorphine and Perth respectively, with Gillian Carr winning the women's race in 32:02. Mike Carroll took the men's race with an excellent time of 26:12. Anster Haddies' Carole Fraser completed the field in 50:58, with the midpoint runner being Isobel Burnett of Carnegie Harriers in 35:34, also winning the F50 award.
After the race, the runners and spetators were treated to a home made buffet, put together by runners, family and friends. The event was sponsored by Edinburgh's Run & Become, with all money raised from the race going to CHAS< Cancer Research and Get Kids Going!.
Race Director, Fabienne Thompson said, "Many thanks to everyone who took part and assisted with the race organisation who made the event another great success."
