The Stockholm marathon will celebrate its 100th running this July by honouring the first event in 1912. The race, which is due to take place on July 14, will follow an almost identical route to the marathon at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics.
The route will be as true to the inaugural one as possible, meaning the distance will only be 40.2km as opposed to the now standard 42.2km. There will, however, be an extra loop available for runners who want to make up the distance.
In the spirit of the 1912 Stockholm Olympic marathon, the officials will be wearing clothing similar to the first event, while water stations will also be fashioned in honour of the period.
Online entries for the jubilee marathon are now closed but Sports Tours International has guaranteed entry places available. As part of their travel package, you will receive a commemorative Great Britain running kit. For more information, visit the Sports Tours International website.
