The City of Stirling 10K will again hold the Scottish 10K championships on Sunday 14 September. Those wishing to take part can still enter the event with registration closing on 11 September (or earlier if the race limit is reached).
The event also includes a 2k race starting at 9.30am, with the 10k held at 10.15am. Starting at Forthbank Stadium in Stirling, the course features a flat, fast route and offers an excellent opportunity to achieve a personal best. Entry fee for the 2K race, also held over a fast flat course, is £5.
As well as Championship medals, there is a long list of prizes on offer, and the fixture is also part of the scottishathletics Road Race Grand Prix for 2014.
Entry numbers for both races are capped so early entry is advised. Last year’s race saw Josh Lilly of Ronhill Cambuslang Harriers take first place in the men’s event with a time of 30:30. Fiona Thompson of Central AC finished fastest female in 34:52.
The event will be sponsored by local running retailer, Run 4 It, in Bridge of Allan. To enter the event, go to the Central Athletics website.
