There’s just two days until the Men’s 10K Festival in Bellahouston Park kicks off. Online registration has now closed for the event but those still wanting to enter can do so with late entries available on Friday (18:00 – 20:00) and Saturday (10:00 – 15:00).
For the first time, the festival will include a 5K event, organised as part of the jogscotland Challenge Series 2014. The Men’s 5K is open to all males aged 11 and over, and takes place on Saturday along with a kid’s 3K race, The Family 3. There’s also a post 5K/pre-10K 'Grub and a Giggle' event where festival goers can get a healthy, carb-filled meal while they are entertained by comedian and Capital FM DJ, Des Clarke.
Des said: “Growing up in the south side of Glasgow I’m used to running around Bellahouston Park - mainly being chased right enough! Seriously, I’m proud to be part of the Men’s Health Festival this year. Especially as I’ll be helping raise money for the Brick By Brick Appeal, building a new Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice. It’s a really fantastic cause and well worth getting my running shoes on for.”
Sarah McMillan from Men’s 10K said: “I hope as many men and families as possible take part in this inspirational event. There’s a wonderful feeling of camaraderie from fellow runners and from supporters who line the route - don’t miss out on a potentially life-changing experience.”
