Excitement is building for the 38th Paris Marathon with less than two months until the event on 6 April. A field of around 50,000 is expected to line up on the Champs-Élysées for one of the biggest marathons in the world.
Amongst those taking part will be Kenenisa Bekele who is running in his first ever marathon. The Ethiopian, a five-time world champion over 5,000m and 10,000m, beat Mo Farah at last year's Great North Run and, like Farah, decided to step up to the 26.2-mile distance in 2014. The 31-year-old will be hoping to better the time of last year's winner, Stanley Biwott from Kenya, who completed the race in 2:05:10.
