Spartan Race returns to Scotland on Sunday 21 September at Winton House, Pentcaitland near Edinburgh. After a successful introduction in 2013, the international obstacle series will be back bigger and better this autumn under the direction of new UK operations director Richard Pringle.
Richard told scottishrunningguide.com: "We Spartans are set to put on a real 'knock 'em dead' event in Scotland. We've built on strong foundations, adding new more fiendish cargo nets, tougher water hazards and higher climbs. What it means is even more fun and enjoyment at an amazingly colourful and adrenaline-packed event.
"The Edinburgh event is classified as a Spartan Sprint, 5k plus of an undulating course with 15 obstacles. It's both an ideal introduction to obstacle racing and a decent examination of the skills of more experienced runners.
"For entrants who would like to be one step ahead we are planning a Spartan training camp at Winton House on 13 August. The three-hour sessions are designed to prepare you for race day, giving you all the skills you'll need to take part. Sessions are ideal for both beginners and more advanced racers, and they cost £10."
scottishrunningguide.com readers will receive a 15% discount for the event by using the code 'WINTON' when they enter at the Spartan Race website.
