One of the most popular races in Glasgow – the Southside Six – returns on Sunday (1 November). A sold-out field of 400 will take on the 16-mile race, starting and finishing in the city’s Queen’s Park.
Southside Six Returns
The event takes competitors through Kings Park, Linn Park, Rouken Glen Park, Pollok Country Park and Bellahouston Park before finishing back at Queen’s Park. The idea for the race came about after a group of runners, tired of running through long stretches of suburban roads, decided to start an event that included some of the city’s many parks.
After the race, runners will be able to reward their hard work at the Southside Six After Party in the Glad Cafe at 7:30pm. To congratulate runners and thank volunteers, there will be complimentary beer, a glass of wine or a cup of tea on offer. Participants are told to check their race goody bag for vouchers relating to this.
