Organisers of the Snowdonia Marathon Eryri have announced a new title sponsor for their 2015 event - top footwear and apparel brand Brooks. This year’s race sold out in record time and saw almost 2,000 runners descend on the start line at Llanberis.
Now approaching its 33rd year, the marathon is known for its picturesque and challenging course and is seen as the jewel in the crown of Welsh racing. October’s event saw Welshman Alan Vaughan take first in a time of 2:40:10, with Andrea Rowlands the leading female runner in 3:08:52.
Having backed the event as a co-sponsor for the last 3 years, Brooks now take the mantle of title sponsorship through until 2018, with a major investment in the race. Brooks UK marketing manager Mike East comments: “We have been involved with the Snowdonia Marathon for many years as it’s an event that has close synergies to Brooks.”
Mike continued: “Brooks believes in looking after the environment we play in and as such share similar values to the team at Snowdonia Marathon. We are especially delighted and proud to become the title sponsor for 2015-2018. This shows our commitment not only to a credible running event but also to those taking part.”
With this year’s entry quota of 2,500 filled up within two weeks, organisers are once again anticipating a high level of demand for 2015. For more information, visit the event website.
