Winter is here, and with a vengeance! Widespread snow and ice is holding everyone to ransom and getting on with day to day life has been near on impossible. With this in mind it is no surprise that organisers of Edinburgh's parkrun have decided to cancel this Saturday's event.
Of the three parkruns in Scotland, Edinburgh is currently the only one forced to take this option - with Glasgow and Strathclyde Park still planning to go ahead at the weekend.
Speaking to scottishrunningguide.com, Glasgow parkrun's Richard Leyton said: "Our run will almost certainly go ahead - we have a back up plan with an off road course should the usual route prove too icy."
Strathclyde parkrun organisers are keeping a watchful eye on the weather at the moment and will update their website with a decision sometime tomorrow.
Wherever you are, it is advisable that you check the website of your local parkrun to see if the run will be going ahead, most organisers are looking to post a decision on Friday evening when they have more information to hand as to what Saturday's conditions are likely to be.
