Around 850 runners headed to the Inner Hebrides for the Isle of Skye Half Marathon on Saturday (11 June). The weather remained dry but overcast for the event’s 33rd hosting.
The winner of the men’s race was Hugh Campbell of Skye Lochalsh Running Club with a time of 1:12:48. The fastest woman was Ellie Buchan from Aberdeen Athletics in 1:28:12. The midpoint runner was Alice Peasley in 1:59:16.
Participants were given musical encouragement before the race as the Isle of Skye Pipe Band accompanied runners to the start line in Portree. Following the half marathon, a Fun Run was held with about 200 runners taking part.
