Organisers of the Granite Challenge on Saturday, June 16 have opened the event to individuals and pairs. The north-east multi-event starts at Fraserburgh on the North Sea and follows the 40 miles of the Formatine and Buchan Way - an old rural railway line - to Aberdeen.
The challenge was first held last year and its success has meant that it is likely to become a permanent fixture on the sporting calendar. The event categories are 'The Duathlon Challenge' - 15 mile run and a 25 mile bike; 'The Bike Challenge' - 40 mile bike; and 'The Hike & Bike Challenge' - 15 mile hill and a 25 mile bike.
Paul Corrigan at Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland told scottishrunningguide.com: "Following lots of requests CHSS is now taking entries for their exciting Granite Challenge event from individuals and pairs as well as teams of three or more - all welcome in any combination! Please check the event website for full details.
"CHSS is also delighted to announce event support from the Nestrans/GetAbout partnership who will have some great goody bags for all participants as well as an exciting display at the event."
