Following the success of last Saturday’s (19 September), Scottish Half Marathon, the 2016 event will include a 10K. Over 4,000 participants took part in the East Lothian event last weekend in glorious sunshine.
Scottish Half To Incorporate 10K
Edinburgh AC athlete, Bryan Mackie, successfully defended his title in the men’s race, and Jennifer Forbes of Gala Harriers finished fastest female with a new women’s course record.
Next year’s race will be held on 17 September, with entries already open. A discounted entry fee available to those who sign up before Sunday 4 October.
The 10k will follow the final section of the fast and flat half marathon, starting and finishing just outside Edinburgh at Musselburgh Racecourse. The route will see runners head along the magnificent Gold Coast before finishing in the final furlong at Musselburgh Race Course, said to be Scotland’s oldest race course.
