Callum Hawkins, Scotland's superstar Olympian and national half marathon record holder, is one of the big names lined up for next week's Scottish Cycling, Running and Outdoors Pursuits Show. Callum will be joined by brother Derek, also a top endurance runner, Eilish McColgan, one of Scotland's top female athletes, and Chi running instructor Nick Constantine at the SECC in Glasgow (10-12 March).

Visitors to the show will find a host of top industry running brands on view including Ron Hill, Newton Running and On Running. The show provides an opportunity to try first hand the latest running technology and apparel to help improve performance, comfort and efficiency for the season ahead.

There's also the chance for a fun challenge at the indoor running track as you test your sprinting techniques using professional starting blocks. Shettleston Harriers will be on hand to show you how to use them, and improve your running technique. Bio-metric testing is also available from Hampden Sports Clinic giving you an insight into overall health and well being.

For runners looking to add cross training sessions in 2017 try out the Active Zone where a variety of free 15 minute fitness classes are available throughout the day. Book in advance online, or simply turn up on the day and have a go. There is a running schedule of different instructors and classes on offer.

Have more fun via the mystery marathon challenge and enter to win a slot at this year's New York Marathon. It’s very simple; all you have to do is run a mile on one of the treadmills and match the mystery time selected. Have your running shoes at the ready for a chance to win a dream New York trip.
