Festive Fun At Annual Run

SAMH runnersThere is just over two weeks until the Funding Neuro + SAMH Fifth Annual Festive Training Run returns to West Dunbartonshire on Sunday 29 November. Instead of an entry fee, organisers are asking participants to make an ‘honesty’ donation of whatever they can afford to a chosen charity.

The event will include a half marathon, 10k and 5k. The half marathon route will go along the cycle path from Dumbarton to Anniesland Lock 27. The events are not timed as they will be classed as training runs. The route will, however, be supported with course marshals and signage.
As organiser Maurice Donohue is taking part in the Mongolian Genghis Khan Ice Marathon in January 2016, he will be using this event as part of his preparations and fundraising cause for the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH) and Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA).
You can donate to Maurice’s Mongolian Ice Marathon joint fundraising page here or you can donate to the Funding Neuro charity here.
To enter, email Maurice at mauricedonohue@btinternet.com indicating what distance you will be running (ie Half Marathon, 10k or 5k) and including an emergency contact name and number. For further information about the training run, you can contact Maurice, or Alan Kennedy at surfaceplus@gmail.com.
