Runway Runs Prepare For Takeoff

Runway RunsRunners will be hoping to get off to a flyer at CLIC Sargent’s Midnight Runway Runs this summer. The children’s cancer charity is hosting the unique 5K events, which will see participants heading along the runways at Dundee, Inverness and Kirkwall airports.

Taking place at midnight, the runways will be clear of aircraft and illuminated by the airfield lights, giving participants a chance to gaze at the stars while running down the main runway. Those taking part are encouraged to wear fancy dress, with a prize for the best costume as well as to the top fundraiser. All runners will receive a quality commemorative medal, CLIC Sargent T-shirt, and an early morning breakfast.

The event dates are as follows:

  • Kirkwall – 18 July
  • Dundee – 8 August
  • Inverness – 29 August
Entry is just £20 per adult and £5 for under 16s, which includes breakfast. Each adult runner is asked to raise a minimum sponsorship amount of £100, with under-16s required to raise at least £50.
