Entries to RunBalmoral 2020 are now open, with an earlier date than usual.
In response to feedback from participants, organisers have announced that Run Balmoral 2020 will be held over the weekend of 18th–19th April, meaning that they will, for the first time in many years, avoid clashing with London Marathon.
Run Balmoral chairman James Knowles said: “The 2020 London Marathon is on 26 April so we have brought our event forward to the weekend before that.
“We know that significant numbers of runners in recent years have been disappointed to miss Balmoral either because they were taking part in the marathon or were watching it on TV.
“We have responded to that and hopefully this will allow these runners and their families to come to Balmoral and perhaps use one of our races as a final workout before tackling the marathon.”
Organisers promise a memorable two days for runners of all ages and abilities.
The line-up of events will include the ConocoPhillips 5K, the Stena Drilling 10K, the MPH primary schools 1.5K, the secondary schools 2.5K, the Apollo duathlon, the Bristow 3 and 15 mile trail races and, of course, the mighty Devil O’Deeside challenge.
And there’s more good news for runners who were hoping to take part in the Royal Deeside event next year: race organisers are offering an incentive for participants to book their places early.
Everyone who registers at the event website
before 12 noon on Monday 8 July will automatically be entered into a free prize draw to win one of two £50 Run4It vouchers. The lucky winners will be announced on Tuesday 9 July.
