With Mo Farah defending his 10,000m gold medal this weekend, another Mo is hoping for a Super Saturday in Balloch. Maurice (Mo) Donohue is encouraging participants at his Balloch Run ’n’ Park 5K/2K to enter into the Olympic spirit on Saturday (13 August).
He told runABC Scotland: “Let’s make a Super Saturday of our own. Participants can come suitably dressed supporting Team GB. For those runners looking for a little challenge, why not make Super Saturday into a Magnificent 7 by completing the 2k route first and then go on to following the 5k route.”
The event starts at 9.30am just inside the main gates of Balloch Country Park on Balloch Road. There is no registration, no fee and no official recording of times. The course will be marked out with directional signs, but it must be stressed that participants will run at their own risk.
