You've probably heard of Tough Mudder – the global obstacle race series – well now there's Ruff Dugger, Scotland's first obstacle/mud trail run for runners with dogs. The first event will be held on 30 August at Craufurdland Estate in East Ayshire.
Organisers describe the race as a 'technical, muddy, off track route that will test your determination and team work with your dog. With natural obstacles to get over, up, through and down this is set to be fantastic fun and adventure you won't forget! Run the course on your own, or with your dog, you will be put in category by age and sex'.
You can also enter as a team. One team consists of two adults (at least one teammate must have a dog). You don't need to be 'a pro' at running to take part, just come and have some fun with your four-legged friend. There will be stalls and barbecue food available after the race.
Participants are warned not to forget their midge spray and a change of shoes. To enter the event, go to Entry Central.
