The route for the inaugural Scottish Half Marathon has been revealed. The race, set for 6 September 2014, will start at Meadowmill Sports Centre and finish at Mussleburgh Racecourse.
The course will be fast and flat, taking in the 'golf coast' of East Lothian. Entrants can run the event as an individual or as part of the Duo Challenge. This challenge involves two people taking on a section each of the race. Deciding who gets the glory leg is up to participants!
Race organiser, Neil Kilgour, recommends the half marathon route for any PB hunters: "If you want to train hard and set a personal best for the half marathon distance then this is the race for you. We have developed a route that is predominantly downhill and consequently is seriously rapid given the right training. By starting conveniently at 11am just outside Edinburgh, you can take part and run along the magnificent 'golf coast' before finishing in front of the grandstand of Scotland's oldest racecourse."
