Rock N Roll Roadshow

Rocker girl at Edinburgh Castle

With less than two months until the Rock 'n' Roll Edinburgh half marathon returns to the capital for its second staging, organisers are hosting a series of exclusive events this week at Run 4 It stores throughout Scotland. Over 4,000 people have already signed up for the race which takes place on 14 April.

Run 4 It stores in Dundee and Aberdeen will both host events tomorrow Wednesday (27 February), followed by an event at the Glasgow store (Bothwell St) on 28 February, before the final one on 1 March at Run 4 It on Lothian Road in Edinburgh. Runners can sign up for the race, enjoy some classic rock 'n' roll music, and take advantage of special offers from official sponsors Brooks Running and Run 4 It.

Experts from Brooks Running will be on hand to offer a complementary shoe fitting service to ensure runners are well equipped ahead of the race. Run 4 It's team of coaches will also be offering expert advice for both seasoned runners and beginners. Those attending will be able to take advantage of exclusive registration discounts to save money on entry price. And for those already registered, there is a chance to win prizes at each store - including VIP access on race day, official Rock 'n' Roll Edinburgh souvenirs, and much more.

The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon series, originating in San Diego, is a mash-up of live music and running that sees bands and DJs performing at each mile point along the race route, culminating in a festival finish line concert. The race route offers picturesque views of Edinburgh, starting and finishing at Holyrood Park, with highlights including the Grassmarket, the Meadows, the Mound, the Royal Mile, the Queen's Palace at Holyrood, the Scottish Parliament building, Edinburgh Castle, Portobello Promenade, the Firth of Forth and Arthur's Seat.

You can still register for the race for £39. The registration fee includes an official Brooks technical t-shirt, course support, post-race snacks, live course and finish-line entertainment and one of Rock 'n' Roll's highly coveted finishers medals. UK runners who register before the 31 March can also take advantage of free race pack postage. Race t-shirts will be available for pick up after the race at the Fitness Festival in Holyrood Park.
