Jogscotland has announced the return of their popular 5K challenge series across Scotland this summer, after the resounding success of last year's events. The Scottish Centre for Healthy Working Lives will sponsor the series, in a bid to recognise the importance of keeping active and improving your health.
The races, which are unique in the fact that they take place mid-week, on Scotland's summer evenings, will be held in several cities across Scotland, encouraging local communities to get out into the fresh air and enjoy the physical benefits of exercise.
The series kicks off in Aberdeen on Wednesday June 9, before heading north to Inverness on Wednesday June 16. Tuesday June 22 sees the Healthy Working Lives jogscotland 5K challenge visit the Borders, with Glasgow's race being the following day. The series will come to an end on Tuesday June 29 in Edinburgh.
jogscotland Manager, Alistair Currie, is looking forward to this year's events.
He said: "With physical activity at the heart of what we do, the Healthy Working Lives jogscotland 5k challenges give everyone a goal to work towards, as well as a great night out which they can enjoy with their friends, family and colleagues.
"It's great to see familiar faces coming back each year to take part and we always look forward to welcoming first time participants too."
Fun for all the family is guaranteed throughout the series, with a Junior Fun Run taking place at each venue before the main 5k races. To register and for more information, visit the jogscotland website.
