With less than a month since Edinburgh parkrun's last record turnout (391), attendance figures at the event edged even closer to 400 on Saturday (2 February) with 393 runners completing the 5k. 55 first timers boosted the numbers.
Edinburgh AC runner and big race podium regular, Bryan Mackie, led the record field home in a time of 16:17, 36 seconds ahead of Peter Avent. parkrun tourist Chris Cotton of Kimberworth Striders came third. Fastest female was Tessa Hill in 18:22. Calum Punton was midpoint runner in 24:34.
A personal account of the event was recorded by Dom Bower, whose video can be viewed on YouTube. Main image is courtesy of Peter Hampton and there is a Flickr album of Peter's pictures. Dom was one of 96 runners who recorded personal bests. Edinburgh parkrun has now seen 6,487 complete the 5k since it began in 2009. There are currently eight parkrun events throughout Scotland with plans to add another at Tollcross Park in Glasgow.
