The start of the year has seen a huge increase in the number of people taking part in parkruns, with six events in Scotland experiencing record attendances last Saturday (7 January). An impressive 658 took part in Edinburgh parkrun, setting a new Scottish attendance record and making it the fourth best-attended parkrun in the UK.
Victoria (393), Portobello (372), Livingston (360), Hazlehead (308) and Strathclyde (308) parkruns also had a record number of participants. In addition to this, Perth, Linwood, and Camperdown all recorded their second highest attendances on Saturday (259, 144, and 231 respectively). Polok (515) and Inverness (194) had their third highest attendances, and Aberdeen, Ayr and Ellon parkruns saw their fourth highest turnouts (312, 93 and 96).
