Yesterday's Mulberry Bush Montessori Balfron 10K saw runners from Garscube Harriers secure a winning double, with both the women's and men's winners setting new course records for the race. Almost 500 runners completed the popular course through the countryside, starting and finishing in the grounds of Balfron High School.

Ben's teammate, Kirsty Husband, made it a double for the club with a winning time in the ladies race of 38:21. Kirsty broke her own course record, set in 2008.

Race Director, Colin Mendham, was delighted with the success of this year's race, commenting on the great weather the runners received, "The race was run in near perfect conditions - cool and overcast, with the earlier downpour having cleared." With almost 500 runners completing the 2010 race, the Balfron 10K is fast becoming one of the most popular in Central and West Scotland.
