Time is running out for those wishing to take part in Isle of Skye Half Marathon on 13 June, with places for this year's event 'going like hotcakes' according to organisers. Entrants have until 31 March before the early bird discount runs out.
Reach For The Skye
The race starts and finishes at Portree, the island's capital, surrounded by stunning views of Ben Tianavaig, The Old Man of Storr, Isle of Raasay and the breathtaking Cuillin mountain range. The undulating course has a steady incline from miles 8 to 11, before heading downwards into Portree towards the finish line.
Lorn Pearson who finished last year's race said: "The Skye Half Marathon was a great event. Well organised, nice touches, lovely scenery. I realised after that we didn’t get a ‘goody bag’ as such, but we got a good T-shirt, a medal, a Mars bar, plenty of water, food and changing facilities – what more could you ask for? They could teach the big events a thing or two, that’s for sure."
The half marathon is designed as a running/jogging event and will have a cut-off time of three hours.
