Rat Race Announce New Triathlon

Glencoe

Rat Race Adventure Sports have announced the addition of a long distance triathlon to the 2013 calendar. The City to Summit event is ideal for anyone who enjoys hill running in challenging conditions. The journey-style race takes place on 1-2 June 2013, starting at Edinburgh's Firth of Forth seashore and ending at the summit of Ben Nevis. It begins with a swim underneath the Forth Road and Rail Bridges, before moving onto land with a road bike stage to Glencoe then culminating in a marathon ascent of Ben Nevis.

The race takes place over the weekend but if you're feeling ambitious there is the option of completing it in one day. The event can also be run as a duathlon for those who'd rather stick to dry land.

The Rat Race website says: "City to Summit has all the bells and whistles that you would expect form the UK's largest operator of sports events: slick logistics, travel and accommodation options to get you and your gear to and from the finish line and a sensational route that all lines up into an iron-distance package of epic proportions."
