After receiving more than the maximum amount of entries for the 2012 race, organisers of the West Highland Way have released the names of the successful runners on their website. The event, which is due to take place on Saturday, June 23, attracted 259 entries but had set an initial limit of 200.
In light of the increasing popularity of the upcoming race, organisers have extended the capacity to 238 runners, with the unlucky entrants urged to gain more experience for future races. The committee had initially scheduled a ballot by way of deciding on successful applicants.
Organisers have also revealed that if the number of people falls below 200 due to withdrawals, they will consider accepting late entries. If you wish to be considered for such a place, you can contact the race director. Contact details are also available on the event website.
