One of Glasgow’s best-loved races - The Southside Six - returns to the city on 6 November. Entries for the event open at 9:30pm on Monday 29 February, with 400 places up for grabs on a first come, first served basis.
With an unaffiliated cost of £10 and an affiliated cost of £8, organisers are expecting the event to sell out very quickly: “From previous experience we expect demand to be high so make sure you attempt to get in as close as possible to the opening time. If you don’t get a place at this time, be sure to join the waiting list as we make more spaces available from the list when entrants withdraw throughout the year.
"The event takes competitors through Kings Park, Linn Park, Rouken Glen Park, Pollok Country Park and Bellahouston Park before finishing back at Queen’s Park. The idea for the race came about after a group of runners, tired of long stretches of suburban roads, decided to start an event that included some of the city’s most scenic parks.
