Scotland's latest parkrun - Inverness - kicks off at 9.30am this Saturday in the city's Bught Park. Why not ditch the bottle of red, have an early night and give your weekend a healthy kick start?
A free weekly 5k run, parkrun has already proved a great success in Scotland with events in Glasgow's Pollok Park, Strathclyde Park, Falkirk and Edinburgh. Inverness parkrun will add to the growing community and is likely to prove just as popular with runners in the north as it it with runners in the central belt.
Starting near Bught Avenue on the south side of Bught Park, the course features three anti-clockwise laps of the park and finishes on the straight opposite the Florians Theatre. Every week organisers plan to grab a post parkrun coffee at the Floral Hall Coffee Shop and all who take part (and their supporters) are welcome to come along and join in some running 'chat'.
If you want to take part in the inaugural run, then make sure you register online by 6pm this evening.
Volunteers are an essential part of the parkrun community and so if you would like to help make Inverness as successful as its Scottish counterparts drop the organisers an email.
