Excitement is building for this year’s Paisley 10K, with entries now open for the event on 21 August. Last year saw over 1700 participants race around the streets of Paisley for the 10K as well as 700 fun runners.
The field will be headed by Great Britain marathon runners and Kilbarchan AAC members Derek Hawkins and Gemma Rankin, providing their schedules allow it. Both have won the event in previous years and were on hand to promote the event last week.
Gemma said: “The Paisley 10k is good if you are a serious athlete because there is some real competition in the race. But it’s also great for getting people more active as they train for the 10k or the Fun Run. You don’t have to be Usain Bolt to enjoy yourself running, so I hope lots of people sign up for the race and have a great day out.”
The race and fun run are held on a flat course, organised by Renfrewshire Leisure in conjunction with Renfrewshire Council. To register, go here.
