Arizona-based Scottish endurance athlete Andrew Lemoncello will attempt to break the world treadmill half marathon record next month in a cause close to his heart. The Olympic runner's daughter Isla was born in June with Down Syndrome.
Since her birth, Andrew and his wife Julie have been well supported by the National Down Syndrome Society. In order to raise funds for the American charity, on 19 October Andrew will attempt to break the world best for a half marathon on a treadmill at the Chandler Fashion Mall in Phoenix.
The world record is currently 1:10:42, Lemoncello is hoping to raise $10,000 in his attempt. To donate to Andrew's cause, please visit his fundraising page.
