Runners will have the chance to visit the beautiful Ardnamurchan peninsula on 19 September for the the inaugural Beinn Resipol Hill Race. The race sets off from Loch Sunart and meanders its way up and down the 845m summit over a total distance of 7.3 miles.
New Hill Race Set For September
The race will provide competitors with stunning views of Lochs Shiel and Sunart, the Small Isles, Mull and Skye. Pariticipants are being encouraged to make a weekend of it and stay in the Resipol campsite. Adding to the atmosphere around the race, the campsite is holding the Resipol Fiddle Fest from 17-21 September.
All profits made from the race are going towards local well-being and mental health charity, Ewen's Room. Ewen’s Room works in the Ardnamurchan Peninsula to raise awareness of mental health challenges and brings together the community and people who may feel isolated.
Complimentary vegetarian soup and refreshments will be provided for runners from 14:30-16:00. There will be prizes for the first three men and first three women finishers as well as spot prizes. First male and female finishers will win a bottle of whisky courtesy of Ardnamurchan’s Glenbeg Distillery.
After working up an appetite, dinner will be on offer from the Fiddle Fest at a reasonable price. As well as culinary offerings, there will also be music in the form of a folk session from 20:00 in a marquee in the campsite grounds.
