Glasgow's Victoria Park is the newest addition to the parkrun family. The park in the city's west end will hold its first official event on Saturday 12 October at 9:30am, following a successful trial run on 28 September.
The free, timed, weekly 5k at Victoria Park will be Glasgow's third parkrun event after Pollok parkrun and Tolcross parkrun, bringing the number of Scottish parkruns to 11.
Organisers said: "We are delighted to announce the launch of the Victoria parkrun. We hope that you will be able to join us there and afterwards for a coffee at the café in Scotstoun Leisure Centre."
parkrun sponsors, Sweatshop Glasgow, posted about the news on Facebook: "We're proud to sponsor parkrun, and SO looking forward to our most local event. Just two miles (exactly two miles - I measured it this morning!) from our store, we'll try to be there most weeks to support you all! And then you can come up, say hi, and we can offer advice on all your running needs."
