A new high-end British running brand has been launched named after one of the sport's most legendary venues. The new Iffley Road brand references the famed Oxfordshire running track which played host to the first ever sub-four minute mile ran by Roger Bannister nearly 60 years ago.
Created by runners for runners, the brand philosophy is simple: running should be free, uncomplicated and beautiful. Combining tailored fit with bespoke, high performance fabrics, the designers have created a brand with a strong emphasis on simplicity and style.
The label has launched with a definitive set of classic running items for men and women available in muted colours. The nod to Bannister's iconic run in 1954 is also a strong theme running through the brand.
"For us, this era of British running encapsulates a spirit of great amateurism that has been eclipsed by today's ferociously professional attitude to sport. We hope to draw the focus back to real running and the pursuit of personal growth.
"Iffley Road has long been my dream and that of my husband. It's a story embedded in mankind's DNA and one that can enrich life every day," said Claire Kent, Iffley Road co-founder. For a flavour of the gear, visit facebook.com/IffleyRoad
