The Nairnshire Challenge – Sunday 28 May
It is an unbelievable 20 years since the Nairnshire Challenge was inaugurated by the Rotary Club of Nairn. In that time over half a million pounds has been raised through sponsorship and distributed to local, national and international charities, groups and individuals.
The 13-mile run, 17-mile cycle, is loved by both elite athletes and those who enjoy the day out and are less interested in improving PBs!
Starting in the moorlands of the Cawdor Estate and finishing among the historic houses of Nairn’s Fishertown, the Challenge takes you over some of the most picturesque scenery to be found in the Highlands.
In recent years the Challenge has been widened to include 16-year-olds and also opened to relay teams of two. So if you don’t fancy one part you can share the load – one running, the other cycling.
This year the date has been moved to the Bank Holiday weekend (Sunday 28 May), giving you the chance to recover before going back to the daily grind!
