Walk, Jog, Run, Moray continues its series of Olympic themed events this weekend with the Buckie 10K which takes place tomorrow (Saturday 4 Aug) at 6pm. Following on from the Moray Torch Relay which saw 4,072 participants take part, the 10k is the first of four races in the area celebrating the Games.
All four events will feature a podium ceremony that will hopefully reflect the British athletes' performances in London. The second event is Pinto 3K which takes place in Cooper Park in Elgin on 8 August along with a 1500m event the same evening. Registration for both is in Elgin Library from 6pm, with refreshments in the Town Hall afterwards.
Friday 10 August sees the 4x400 relay races taking place in Forres High Street with free entry. The races are open to under 12s, under 16s and 16+, and individuals are welcome to register as they will be put into a team on the night. Registration is at Forres Town Hall from 5:30pm with the first relay at 6:15pm.
Finally, the annual Dufftown 5K takes place at 5pm on 11 Aug to finish off the celebrations. Entry is £5, with registration in the Dufftown Royal British Legion from 4pm. Participants are encouraged to wear kilts or tartan clothes. The run is open to all ages, but under 12s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Refreshments will be on offer at the Royal British Legion after the run.
