Walk, Jog, Run Moray is aiming to spread the Olympic spirit with a series of events in the lead-up to the 2012 Games. With the success of last month's Torch Relay in which over 4,000 residents took part, the organisation is hoping for a similar turnout with four races during August.
First on the agenda is a 10k race in Buckie on Saturday, 4 August at 6pm. With a cost of just £5 and the option for non-contesting participants to complete one lap of the two lap course. The 10k race will be followed by a 1,500m and 3k race in Elgin on Wednesday, 8 August. These are priced £1 and £2 respectively.
On 10 August there will be 4x400m relay races in Forres High Street, with entry free of charge. Races are open to three age groups - under 12s, under 16s and 16+. Individuals are welcome to register and will be put into a team on the night.
Finally, festivities will conclude with the annual Dufftown 5K at 5pm on 11 August. Entry is set at £5, with participants encouraged to wear kilts or tartan clothes.
